SPECIAL SCREENINGS AND EVENTS   

M​ Cinema Rental

Thank you for your interest in renting Queen of the Square Cinema for your film screening. The following fees are based on the use of the cinema with one event with a maximum booking time of four hours. We provide: a professional projectionist; state-of-the-equipment including a Christie cinema projector, Dolby 5.1 surround sound and microphones) plus seating for up to 200 people.  We will also load and test your film before the event. All rental fees exclude film licensing and auditorium rental fees. (Film rates start at $250 and the auditorium rental fee is $18 – $40 per hour.)

FREE EVENTS 
​We offer a reduced fee of $600 + HST for community events where no admission is charged. 

TICKETED EVENTS
We have two rental rate options for ticketed events.​

​1) Flat rate rental of $800 + HST​

2) $300 + 50% of the net box office + HST

You can sell your own tickets or we offer the use of our on-line cinema booking system which includes promotion of your screening event on our Facebook Instagram, web site and email newsletter. You can also rent our box office services and concession stand.​​​

BOOKING PROCESS

  • Plan your event
  • Book the auditorium through the City Clerk’s Office (519) 271-0250 ext. 237
  • Let us know the date and complete the application form
  • Share with us your Facebook event page along with any other marketing materials
  • Book the film
  • Send the film (DCP or Blu-Ray) at least two weeks in advance of your event
  • We will test the film as close to the event day as possible

OUR REQUESTS
Please advise us of the event dates and book the auditorium at least eight weeks before your event. Send us your promotional materials at least six weeks prior to your event if you need us to promote your event.

THE FINE PRINT

  • Rates are based on a booking of four hours (including one hour of setup time) 
  • Additional rates beyond four hours are charged at $50 per hour.
  • Optional services include:

  1. Filming booking and coordination – $50 + applicable shipping costs
  2. Concession stand for free and self-managed events – $50
  3. Event management fee may apply in certain circumstances. This will be determined when discussing your event needs.

Partner Screenings

Queen of the Square Cinema has hosted many partner screenings  If there is a special film you would like to show as part of our schedule to support a community initiative, please get in touch.  

Some examples of our partner screenings include the Rotary Travelogue Series, a fundraising screening for the CJCS Kiwanis Christmas Basket Fund, Amnesty International, Zonta Club, Canadian Federation of University Women and the OWL Film Challenge. 

Group Bookings

If you wish to bring a large group to one of our scheduled films we can offer special group rates for 10 more patrons for regular screenings only.

​20 – 30  –  $9.00 per person
​​31 – 50  –  $8.00 per person
​​51 – 70  –  $7.50 per person
​71 +      –  $7.00 per person

We can also host your group at a special rate for Live from the MET, National Theatre Live and other premium events. Please get in touch for more details.
